Fiber Cleaving

Precise and highly reproducible automated scribe and cleave process ensures consistent crack-free endfaces. The fiber scribe and cleave process is the first step in preparing the fiber endface – the “business end“ of the fiber. Precisely cut fiber ends with no axial cracks are required. The kSARIA process precisely locates the scribe position, executes the scribe using a fixed pre-determined force, and accurately applies a known axial tension to complete the cleave process. The process creates a flat, clean, crack-free fiber end which is ready for insertion into a terminus.
